ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — It was history in the making last week at Penn State Abington's campus.

Legendary documentarian Ken Burns is showcasing his new feature on "The American Revolution," on PBS, and the documentary includes PSU Abington History Professor Friederike Baer.

The Old York Road campus held an exclusive pre-release screening of "The American Revolution" last Thursday.

Baer and two other scholars took part in a panel discussion about the historical events from the documentary.

The Philadelphia region is home to lots of Revolutionary War history, everything from Gen. George Washington's winter encampment at Valley Forge to his crossing of the Delaware River into Trenton, N.J.

Burns is best known for his films and documentaries on baseball, The Civil War, the Brooklyn Bridge, Jazz, Country Music, and the West. He has won several Emmy Awards.

"The American Revolution" is a six-part, 12-hour television documentary miniseries that premiered on PBS on Sunday.
