The latest Niche rankings show the best traditional schools rankings in the nation, including magnet and charter schools.

EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Several Montgomery County school districts are among the best public school systems in the Commonwealth and country, according to a report released this week by Niche.

Niche's just released 2026 Best Public High Schools in America. It comes just weeks after the more strictly qualitative ranking put out by U.S. News and World Report.

The evaluation metrics for the Niche list take input from students, alumni, and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources, and facilities.

The Upper Dublin School District placed fifth among the best eastern Montgomery County school districts, according to Niche, which ranked 10 of them.

Niche said its rankings, now in the 11th year, differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni, and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources, and facilities.

These are how the school districts in Lower Bucks County ranked:

  • 5th — Upper Dublin School District
  • 9th — Jenkintown School District
  • 13th — Abington School District
  • 14th — Cheltenham School District
  • 18th — Hatboro-Horsham School District
