SEPTA Keswick Avenue Rail Bridge Repairs Begin
SEPTA crews are working on performing concrete repairs to the abutments of the Keswick Avenue Bridge in Abington Township this week.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — SEPTA contractors have crews performing concrete repairs to the abutments of the Keswick Avenue Bridge this week.
SEPTA said work hours are projected to be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During this work, there may be the need for parking restrictions and a sidewalk closure.

There will be no impact on traffic.
Overnight Wednesday into Thursday, there will be a track outage (3-4 hours) for construction with minimal noise and/or light impacts, SEPTA said.

Between Monday and Thursday, SEPTA contractors will also be on site at the Glenside Railroad Station prepping for platform repairs.
Operations at the Glenside Regional Rail Station will be uninterrupted, though some parking spaces may not be available, SEPTA said.
SEPTA Bridge Over Keswick Avenue:
In addition to concrete repairs to the abutment walls, the bulk of the work will be a rapid bridge superstructure replacement, SEPTA said.
Work will take place during a 78-hour shutdown of Regional Rail service on Memorial Day weekend.
The existing Keswick Avenue Bridge will be carried off-site to a nearby staging/prep area where it will be broken down.
The new bridge will be brought to staging area where it will be assembled. The assembled bridge will be transported to project site and lifted into place.
Road Closures For Keswick Avenue Bridge Work:
Keswick Avenue between Mount Carmel Avenue and Paxson Avenue will be closed from about May 19 to May 30.
Drivers and residents should also expect partial closures of Mount Carmel Avenue between Rices Mill Road and Keswick Avenue during the Memorial Day weekend of May 24-26.
