Snow Emergency Declared In Jenkintown

Jenkintown Borough issued the snow emergency starting at noon Tuesday due to an expected storm bring snow accumulations to the region.

JENKINTOWN BOROUGH, PA —Jenkintown Borough has declared a snow emergency due to a storm bringing snow accumulations Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Borough Manager George Locke said the snow emergency goes —declared by Mayor Gabriel Lerman —into effect at noon on Tuesday and will last until 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Locke said the emergency was issued due to the expected snow accumulations and to "protect the health, safety, and welfare of affected residents, business owners, and travelers traversing the borough."

Residents are requested to move all their vehicles from the streets if possible.

Officials said residents should park in their driveways if they have one or as close to the curb as possible so plow trucks can clear roadways without interference.

Sidewalks must be clear of snow and ice 24 hours after the weather ends, officials said.

Officials said residents should use caution if they need to travel.

Locke said that borough crews are treating all roads in the borough and will be working throughout the snow emergency to keep the roads clear.
