Wheelchair-Bound Man Taken In Alleged Montco Abduction Incident Before Being Returned

Jenkintown Police say three people conspired to abduct a wheelchair-bound man in order to separate him from his family. Two were charged.

JENKINTOWN, PA — Police say that a wheelchair-bound man who resides at an extended care facility was abducted on Wednesday in what they have termed a conspiracy to separate the victim from his family.

Jenkintown Police announced the abduction of Charlie Bostic on York Road in the borough on Wednesday just after 3 in the afternoon.

Police said Bostic was taken from an unknown person and the matter was described as a possible kidnapping.

Officers interviewed family members of Bostic — who is confined to a wheelchair because of various medical issues — who were determined to be untruthful to investigators about their knowledge of, and involvement in, the abduction, police stated.

"It was determined that these two individuals and at least a third individual had conspired together to take Mr. Bostic away from his family and the extended care facility," Jenkintown Police said in a news release. "The incident is actively being investigated by Jenkintown Borough Police and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau."

The department said that they broadcasted a missing and endangered person alert after the kidnapping, and that at around 3 a.m. on Thursday an unknown person dropped Bostic off at the original extended care facility where he was residing at the time.

"Mr. Bostic is safe and has been evaluated for any possible injuries," the news release states.

Jenkintown Police say they arrested Keyaira Sade Bostic and Bino Ian Williams in relation to the incident.

Court records show that Keyaira Bostic, who is 33 years old, was arraigned Thursday morning before Magisterial District Judge Andrea Hudak Duffy. She was transferred to county custody after failing to post bail.

Keyaira Bostic is facing a felony conspiracy charge along with four misdemeanor conspiracy counts and one misdemeanor drug use/possession count, records show.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for May 27.

A criminal docket sheet does not yet appear to be available for Williams, whose age was not revealed.

Police also did not immediately reveal the exact nature of the relationship between the two defendants and the victim.

Police said that the investigation is ongoing and others may be charged in connection with the kidnapping conspiracy.
