12 More PA Counties Moving To Green Phase Next Week

A dozen more Pennsylvania counties will move to the green phase of coronavirus mitigation on June 26, the governor announced Friday.

HARRISBURG, PA — A dozen more Pennsylvania counties will move to the green phase of coronavirus mitigation on June 26, the governor announced Friday through social media.

The following counties will move to green then: Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Erie, Lancaster, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia, and Susquehanna.

While Philadelphia met the criteria to move to green on June 26, local officials will maintain some additional restrictions until July 3.

Dauphin, Franklin, Huntingdon, Luzerne, Monroe, Perry, Pike and Schuylkill moved to green Friday, June 19.

The shutdowns, which began in mid-March, were put in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, which has so far infected more than 80,000 Pennsylvanians. As of Thursday, the state's death toll was 6,361.

So how will daily life change for residents of counties in the green zone?

For one, restaurants can reopening their dining rooms on a limited capacity. Gyms can reopen, as can salons and barbershops. Here is a full rundown of how daily life will change in the green phase.
