5 PA Restaurants Among America's Most Romantic, New Ranking Says

PENNSYLVANIA — With Valentine’s Day only a couple of weeks away, there’s no time to spare before making reservations at Pennsylvania's most romantic restaurants.

The reservation service OpenTable on Wednesday released its 2024 iteration of the Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America, an elite list developed from more than 12 million diner reviews and other metrics, the site said.

In Pennsylvania, five restaurants made the cut. They include:

Altius – Pittsburgh: Serving contemporary American cuisine, Altius is the second restaurant concept from B DeFrancis and Chef Jessica Bauer. Rated Four Diamond by AAA, the eatery has "quickly risen in ranks as one of the top restaurants in Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania," it boasts on the website. Belvedere Inn Restaurant and Bar – Lancaster: The Belvedere Inn is celebrated for its contemporary American cuisine and refined dining ambiance. Additionally, the establishment offers a piano bar upstairs where guests can enjoy live jazz performances. According to its website, the restaurant is located in a Victorian Italianate-style city mansion, which was built in 1869. Learn more here.

Josephine’s – Lancaster: Josephine's offers fine French cuisine inspired by fresh ingredients. Dishes are "elegant, direct and above all, satisfying," the eatery says on its website. Monterey Bay Fish Grotto – Mt. Washington – Pittsburgh: Monterey Bay Fish Grotto offers a scenic view of Pittsburgh in its two-level glass-walled space. The eatery is best known for its seafood; they have at least 10 kinds of fresh fish on the menu every night, according to the website. The menu also feature steaks, salads and desserts. SkyHigh – Philadelphia: This chic Philadelphia hot spot is located in the Four Season Hotel. The menu includes an array of appetizers, pizzas and salads, as well as beef, seafood and burgers. It also boasts Philadelphia's "highest situated" bar and lounge, where guests can sip artful cocktails and munch on light bites while enjoying live-music and unobstructed city views. The full list of "most romantic restaurants" includes restaurants in 33 states and the District of Columbia.

One thing to keep in mind. Reservations book up quickly, with about half gone two weeks before Valentine’s Day, according to OpenTable.
