Several Fatal Crashes Reported In PA Over Easter Weekend
Pennsylvania State Police said of the 45 DUI-related crashes over the three-day period across the state, none resulted in fatalities.
PENNSYLVANIA — The Easter weekend in Pennsylvania saw several fatal crashes, nearly 300 DUI arrests and several hundred additional crashes, according to Pennsylvania State Police data.
State police have released the data on the three-day weekend (Friday to Sunday) showing statistics of roadway incidents across Pennsylvania.
Over that period, six people were killed in crashes. Authorities did not provide the locations of all of the fatal crashes, but at least two happened in the Philadelphia region. One was reported in Delaware County Sunday, when a 17-year-old girl from Brookhaven was killed, according to authorities.

Additionally, Cameron Johnson, 19, of Levittown, was killed at 3:54 a.m. Easter Sunday on Interstate 95, authorities said.
The fatal crashes were not DUI related, according to state police.

There were 532 crashes over the weekend, 45 of which involved driving under the influence. Of the 532 crashes, 95 resulted in injuries.
While the total number of crashes was higher than 2024, which saw 490 crashes over the same period, there were fewer fatal crashes (seven in 2024), fewer DUI crashes (55 in 2024), and fewer fatal DUI crashes (three in 2024).
Police also released data on enforcement efforts over the holiday weekend.
State police made 282 DUI arrests, down from 337 in 2024; issued 2,976 speeding citations, down from 5,346 in 2024; gave out 52 child seat citations, down from 70 in 2024; and cited 321 people for seatbelt violations, also down from 2024 which saw 557 citations issued.
According to state police, troopers issued 7,789 "other" citations over the three-day period, as well. That figure was significantly lower than during the 2024 Easter weekend period, which saw troopers issuing 10,733 "other" citations, according to the data.
These statistics cover only those incidents investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police and do not include incidents to which other law enforcement agencies responded.
