Animal Fosters Needed!

Animal Fosters needed for Chester County Rescue - Tails of the Free!

Foster with Tails of the Free Animal Rescue!

If you have ever thought about fostering an animal - the time is now! With all of the animal rescues in Texas due to Hurricane Harvey, shelters are at their capacity and fosters are needed ASAP!

Tails of the Free is a Chester County based rescue ( all our fosters should be located in Chester County or Close proximity) with 7 adoption locations and fosters throughout the county or close to it (Thorndale, Lionville, Exton, Parkesburg, Morgantown, Gilbertville, Phoenixville).

We provide all of our fosters with supplies, pay for all medical appointments & provide Adoption Events to promote your foster. It is up to the foster to transport to the vet appointments but we use vets that are within Chester County (Brandywine Valley SPCA and Aardvark in Downingtown). We also have various volunteers who have a lot of experience with animal behaviors/ training that can give you support if you have any issues. One important thing to note, however is that we do not have a space for dogs outside of the foster homes so if you commit to fostering a dog and it doesn’t work out there is nowhere for that animal to go within the rescue so more than likely it would go back to a shelter. We can ask the shelter about temperament and if he seems kid/dog friendly but of course there are no guarantees since animals do respond differently when in a shelter environment.

Fosters can always adopt an animal that they fall in love with but we don't do foster-to-adopt (meaning using our foster program as a means to adopt an animal). We also do all of the promoting for the animal have adoption events monthly to help our foster animals get adopted as soon as possible.
If you are interested in fostering cats or kittens the fostering is short term and when they are ready (fully vetted/old enough/healthy) they go to one of our adoption locations. We work with all potential fosters to match them with an animal that would fit in best for the home/family. We have a lot of partner shelters/rescues and animals of all different sizes/breeds/colors/ages are in need of rescue!
