PA Child, 3, Trapped Under 2,000 Lb. Sack Of Seed: FD

He was trapped under the 2,000 bag for about 5 minutes, officials say.

PENNSYLVANIA — A 3-year-old child was trapped under a 2,000 lb. sack of seed for up to five minutes in Lancaster County, PA, Friday night, officials said.

According to a Facebook post by the Penryn Fire Company No. 1 in Manheim, PA, the incident took place on Friday just before 5 p.m. The fire department was dispatched to Newport Road and found the boy trapped, officials said. The child's father had given him CPR, and he was breathing on his own when the fire department arrived, officials said.

The child was airlifted to Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in stable but critical condition, officials said.

The Penryn Fire Company was assisted by Warwick EMS, Lifelion Medic 700, Penn Medicine Penn Med 1, and Penn State Lifelion Areomedical, officials said.
