The U.S. Marshall's Service is now spearheading the search, which is entering its 13th day since Cavalcante broke out of Chester County Prison. The Brazilian national was sentenced last month to life in prison for fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend, Deborah Brandao, 33, in Schuylkill Township in 2021.

Police initially believed he was heading to Mexico and then back to Brazil. He's been sighted in the areas of Longwood Gardens and Phoenixville in the days since.

The reward for Cavalcante’s capture increased from $20,000 to $25,000. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact state police at 717-562-2987.

The family of Brandao has organized The Victims of Cavalcante GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for the victim's two children. Donations can be made here.
