1st Snow In Forecast For Eastern PA

The first snow of the season will likely fall in many parts of eastern Pennsylvania this week, according to forecasters.

It comes on the tail of a brutal Arctic cold front that will also bring the coldest temperatures of the season to the region.

Snow is most likely to fall as light flurries in the early part of the day Tuesday, most likely before 1 p.m., the National Weather Service said.

Measurable snowfall is not expected in the greater Philadelphia area. Flurries are in the forecast in outlying communities in Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, and Delaware counties.

Precipitation will move out of the area by Tuesday afternoon, as the area braces for a second straight night of freezing temperatures. The low Tuesday night will be around 34, but that will be made frigid by powerful sustained winds of 20 miles per hour and wind gusts potentially getting up to 40 miles per hour north and west of the city.
