Heat, Thunderstorms, Flooding Coming To Eastern PA: See New Forecast
Severe weather is in the cards for the Keystone State, complete with thunderstorms and flooding, after a warm up, forecasters said.
PENNSYLVANIA — Flood advisories have been issued for parts of the Keystone State Tuesday afternoon after summer-like temperatures heat up the region and thunderstorm timing has been updated in the latest forecast.
A sunny Tuesday with daytime highs in the upper 70s is in the cards, the National Weather Service said, before a chance for afternoon showers comes to the region, mostly affecting South Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.
“As of early this morning, some showers are moving across portions of southern Delaware into Cape May County NJ but once these move out, most of the day should be dry with temperatures warming,” the National Weather Service Mount Holly station said in a statement.

As of Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., four Pennsylvania counties are under a coastal flooding advisory through 1 a.m. Wednesday.

“Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways,” the weather service said.
Wednesday will see even hotter temperatures, mainly in the 80s, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, the weather service said.
The forecast will sour by Thursday with temperatures in the 70s and widespread showers and storms likely, the National Weather Service said. Storms are set to linger through Friday, which will be mostly cloudy with daytime highs in the mid-60s.
The silver lining: Saturday will be a mild, partly sunny day with highs near 65 degrees. Sunday holds a chance of showers with highs pushing 70 degrees.
Here’s the latest forecast, according to the National Weather Service:
Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 75. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.
Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4 a.m. Patchy fog after 11 p.m. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 57. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8 a.m. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 83. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday Night: A slight chance of showers after 2 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 58. West wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Thursday: A chance of showers, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. High near 73. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Thursday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 2 a.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 a.m. Low around 53. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
