Hooters Closing Numerous Locations Across The Country
Hooters said in a statement to the media it is closing a number of underperforming restaurants. See if Pennsylvania has been impacted.
PENNSYLVANIA — Hooters is the latest restaurant chain to suddenly shutter a number of its restaurants, with dozens of the chain's eateries reportedly closing in several states.
Hooters, known for its wings and scantily clad waitresses, has not released a list of locations that have closed over the past several weeks. But Patch found at least four Hooters in Georgia that have shut down, and local reports indicate that restaurants in Florida, Kentucky, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia also have closed.
The Hooters website lists a sole Pennsylvania eatery in King of Prussia. It was open on Tuesday.

Ensuring the well-being of our staff is our priority in these rare instances," Hooters said in a statement Monday to Nation's Restaurant News, which first reported the closures.
"With new Hooters restaurants opening domestically and internationally, new Hooters frozen products launching at grocery stores, and the Hooters footprint expanding into new markets with both company and franchise locations, this brand of 41 years remains highly resilient and relevant. We look forward to continuing to serve our guests at home, on the go and at our restaurants here in the U.S. and around the globe."
