Thunderstorms In Eastern PA Forecast After Tuesday Warm Up
Thunderstorms, flooding, hail and even isolated tornadoes are possible after a summer-like warmup, forecasters said.
PENNSYLVANIA — Thunderstorms, flooding, hail and even isolated tornadoes are possible after summer-like heat hits Pennsylvania this week, forecasters said.
“High temps well above normal” are expected Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Patchy fog will greet commuters during the morning hours, quickly paving the way for mostly sunny skies and temperatures near the mid 80s in the afternoon.
Temperatures will be noticeably cooler near the shore due to light surface winds, the weather service added.

“Temperatures by midweek [across the Northeast] will reach levels typically experienced in the middle of summer,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Adam Sadvary said Monday.
Sadvary added that the humidity can cause temperatures to feel more like 90-degree heat by Wednesday and Thursday in some parts of the region.

“If you haven’t gotten around to installing your air conditioner units, the start of this week would be an optimal time to do so,” Sadvary said.
The dry skies will linger into Wednesday and Thursday morning, until showers, locally severe thunderstorms and a flood risk hit the region Thursday, AccuWeather noted. The storms will be capable of heavy downpours, damaging winds up to 65 mph and even isolated tornadoes and hail; evening commuters should also prepare for delays and disruptions.
Additional showers and perhaps thunder will be possible late Friday into Saturday, the National Weather Service added.
