PA Wins On Walk Off Home Run, Advances In Little League World Series

The boys from the small town in southeastern Pennsylvania are just four wins away from the world final.

BRISTOL, CT — In a quick, anxious, extra innings, defensive minded chess match where the winners didn't get a hit until the final at bat of the game, the boys from Media advanced to the next stage of the Little League World Series.

Representing the mid-Atlantic region against the southeastern region team, Northwest D.C., Media maintained their undefeated run through the tournament. Media will now play against Fargo Little League from Fargo, North Dakota, the midwest region winner, in the next round. All remaining games, including the championships, will be held in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Media is now three wins away from reaching the U.S. championship, and four wins away from reaching the world championship.

But they were able to hold on to the lead in the top of the 7th, and in the bottom of the 7th, with a man on first, left handed slugger Trevor Skowronek put a big Kyle Schwarber swing on a fastball and launched it over the left-center field fence for a walk off win.

Media's game against Fargo will take place on Monday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. It will be broadcast on ESPN 2.
