A warm and humid Saturday will spawn severe weather later in the day and bring downpours, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes to parts of Pennsylvania, according to the latest forecasts.

High temperatures on Saturday will be in the 80s, and could even reach 90 degrees, the National Weather Service said. Dew points will be in the 60s, and this will set the stage for thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening.

According to NBC10 First Alert Weather meteorologist Robert Johnson, storms are likely to start over southeastern Pennsylvania around 3 p.m. before moving east and becoming more widespread along the Interstate 95 corridor.

The primary impacts from the storms will be gusty winds, downpours and isolated tornadoes, Johnson said.

In addition, heavy rain may result in localized flash flooding, and this threat could linger through Saturday night, forecasters said.

By 11 p.m., the threat of severe weather will diminish, but rain is expected to continue through the overnight hours into Sunday morning.

The strongest storms are most likely in southeastern Pennsylvania, North Jersey and along the I-95 corridor, according to the National Weather Service.

"As always, have a way to get any warnings that may be issued, and be ready for rapidly changing conditions," the National Weather Service said. "Remember! Just because a storm may not be severe does not mean it's not dangerous! Seek shelter for any thunderstorms that may be nearby."

The chance for showers continues until Sunday, but skies are expected to clear by Sunday night, according to the National Weather Service.
