Top 100 High Schools For Sports In PA Ranked In New Report

Niche, known for its annual lists comparing school districts based on academics, is now turning its attention to sports.

A new ranking lists the Pennsylvania high schools best for athletics. The 2026 rankings cover 867 Pennsylvania high schools.

The Niche rankings are based on several factors, including the number of sports offered, the number of students participating in sports, and the school's enrollment in grades 9 through 12.

Much of the ranking is anecdotal, as reviews on Niche posted by parents and students account for 50 percent of the score. State championships won by the schools factor in as well, counting for 10 percent of the score. You can read more about the methodology here.
