Bakery Opens, 'Leading Ladies' Hits Stage

Looking for something to do this weekend? Hatboro and Horsham have no shortage of things going on.

NONNO'S BAKERY OPENS

Where/when: 100 S. York Road, Hatboro, open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

Why go: Mark the opening of Hatboro's long-awaited Italian bakery, located at the former site of Juliano's Deli. (Click here for an in-depth article on the business).

'LEADING LADIES'

Where/when: Village Players of Hatboro, 401 Jefferson Ave., Hatboro, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.; Sunday at 2 p.m. 

Why go: Watch the Village Players' performance of "Leading Ladies," by playwright Ken Ludwig.

ART GALLERY OPENING

Where/when: Art at Valley Lake Gallery, 3 Village Road in Horsham, Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

Why go: The opening exhibition will feature oil paintings of Frances Galante, Richard E. Goldberg and Maggie Leiby. Light refreshments will be provided. Proceeds benefit the Drueding Center, a transitional housing program for women and children in North Philadelphia.

CAMPER SCAMPER 5K

Where/when: College Settlement Camp, 600 Witmer Road, Horsham, Saturday at 9 a.m. 

Why go: A rare race for kids where everyone's a winner and receives a prize.

Cost: $30

AUTUMN AFFAIR

Where/when: Meadowlands Country Club, 711 Boehms Church Road, Blue Bell, Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

Why go: Enjoy an evening of dinner, dancing and raffles. 

Cost: $55 (subscribers) or $65 (patron)

MCCC COMMUNITY DAY

Where/when: Montgomery County Community College, central campus, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

Why go: The event features activities and entertainment for all ages and interests. Children’s attractions include a moon bounce, pony rides, face painting, sandbox activities arts and crafts and more. Teens and adults can learn more about the college’s programs during an admissions presentation and tour at 11 a.m.
