BuxCo Man Tasered by Whitpain Cops, Officer Injured: Police
John Adamson, 44, of West Bridge Street, Morrisville, allegedly resisted arrest during a public drunkenness arrest outside Phil's Tavern in Whitpain, police said.

A Whitpain Township Police officer suffered a knee injury and damage to his uniform during the apprehension of a Morrisville, Bucks County man on Aug. 30 outside Phil's Tavern, police said.
John Adamson, 44, of the 300 block of W. Bridge Street, allegedly resisted arrest and had to be Tasered by officers, following an investigation of a possible car theft in the Whitpain Township tavern parking lot, police said.
Adamson was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness, police said. He was arraigned by District Judge Thomas Palladino, who released Adamson on $5,000 unsecured bail, police said. Adamson was released to a friend, police said.

On Aug. 30 at 8:41 p.m., a Whitpain Township officer was checking the parking lot of Phil's Tavern and found a silver Honda parked in the lot with its interior light on and trunk lid partially open, police said.
The officer began to investigate, as there was a recent rash of thefts from vehicles in the area, police said.

During the investigation, the officer was approached by Adamson, who was allegedly drunk, police said. The officer told Adamson that he was under arrest for public drunkenness, police said.
Adamson, police said, allegedly began to fight with the officer and tried to run away, police said. The officer used his Taser to get Adamson under control, police said.
Adamson refused to be checked by Second Alarmers Rescue Squad personnel, police said, and allegedly continued to be uncooperative with officers. Adamson was eventually taken into custody and taken for arraignment.
