Centre Square Fire Company Station 2 For Sale

Centre Square Fire Company’s Station 2, located at 244 Skippack Pike in Blue Bell, closed about a year and a half ago when the fire company didn’t have volunteers to staff the second station. At the , there are stationed three full time career firefighters and approximately 50 volunteers.

Fire Chief for Centre Square, Lee Miller, said a year and a half ago when they closed Station 2, the company received no opposition from the township or the residents once they explained the situation.

The building is currently up for sale or for lease. Signs at the site went up approximately three months ago, however, Miller said the building has been listed for sale since the beginning of 2011.

Ideally the fire company would like to sell the building, which is zoned residential, while keeping the neighbors happy during the building’s next use. Any use, other than residential, would have to go through Zoning Hearing process.

Miller said there have been a couple interested parties in the building, but no agreements for the sale or lease of the building have been made to this date.

He told Patch that the fire company is hoping to sell or lease the building this year.
