DUIs, Underage Drinking Round Out Whitpain Police Reports

DUI: On Feb. 9 at 12:03 a.m., an officer was following a silver Honda east on Skippack Pike when they allegedly noticed it was swerving on the roadway. The officer stopped the car along the 600 block of Skippack Pike, where the driver was identified as Jong Wan Cho, 46, of the 100 block of Evergreen Court.
The report states that Cho appeared intoxicated and was later taken to Mercy Suburban Hospital for blood testing. Charges, including DUI and traffic offenses, will be filed once the blood results are received.

DUI: Jose Luis Montes-Contreras, 40, of the 600 block of Main Street, Norristown, was arrested for DUI on Feb. 10 at 8:44 a.m.
An officer allegedly noticed a green van swerving on the roadway, while traveling north on Dekalb Pike. The officer stopped the car near Tournament Drive, and upon contact, the report states that the officer believed Montes-Contreras was intoxicated.

Montes-Contreras was later taken to Mercy Suburban Hospital for blood testing, and charges including DUI and traffic violations will be filed once the blood results are received.

UNDERAGE DRINKING: On Feb. 10 at 12:28 a.m., Samuel Nesmith, 18, of the 200 block of Mattison Avenue, Ambler, and Matthew Elliot, 19, of the 100 block of Rosemary Avenue, Ambler, were arrested for underage drinking after an officer checked the occupants of a suspicious vehicle along the 100 block of Birkdale Drive.
The driver of the vehicle, Andrew Delaney, 20, of the 300 block of Euclid Avenue, Ambler, was also arrested for disorderly conduct for possessing paraphernalia.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Feb. 8 at 8:04 a.m., an officer stopped to assist the driver of a disabled Toyota along the 600 block of Dekalb Pike. While waiting for AAA, it was determined that there were three warrants from Whitpain for the driver, identified as Sharea Stevens, 23, of the 5000 block of Walnut Street, Philadelphia. Her driver’s license was also under suspension.
Once AAA arrived, Stevens was taken before District Justice Robert Sobeck for a hearing and her driver’s license was seized. She was later released.
