Japanese BYO Opens in Spring House

Surah, a new Japanese BYO with Korean flair, has opened in Spring House in the Giant Shopping Center.

, which opened in June, is Spring House’s newest Japanese BYO, and is offering it’s customers Japanese cuisine with Korean flair.

Sous Chef and Manager at Surah, Eun-Jin Ahn, said the restaurant’s Executive Chef Tae Yeon Kim comes from a Korean soul food mentality, so the menu is a true marriage of the two cuisines.

The restaurant offers a full sushi bar and Ahn, said they only use the highest quality, fresh fish and they can special order a fish or an ingredient for a customer when asked.

“Customers are always first,” said Ahn.

She also told Patch that all items on the menu can be special ordered with or without seafood, chicken, beef, etc.

The restaurant features three private dining rooms, as well as the sushi bar and the new communal table that can be reserved for parties as well.

Ahn, who was formerly from a restaurant in Philadelphia said working in Spring House is a very different feel. She told Patch that at Surah, she’s serving and feeding her neighbors.

“Everyone’s a VIP,” said Ahn.

The restaurant, located at 1121 N Bethlehem Pike in Spring House, in the Giant shopping center, has gone under a facelift. Ahn said when you walk into Surah it doesn’t feel like a shopping center any longer.
