Lower Gwynedd Accident Closes Penllyn Pike
Late afternoon accident closes Penllyn Pike between Gypsy Hill Rd. and the little league field in Lower Gwynedd.
On Wednesday, just after 3 p.m., emergency crews were dispatched to Penllyn Pike in Lower Gwynedd to the report of the three car accident.
Lower Gwynedd Police Lt. Paul Kenny, told Patch that a blue sedan lost control while trying to pass a vehicle while driving on Penllyn Pike and the vehicle went into the northbound lanes an hit a green Ford sedan.
The blue sedan continued to spin and hit a third vehicle on Penllyn Pike.

Kenny confirmed that no part of Penllyn Pike is not a passing zone and sais police believe that speeding was involved in the accident.
The driver of the green sedan was trapped in the vehicle and had injuries. The driver’s side door of the vehicle had to be removed to rescue the driver. The driver was taken to the hospital by Second Alarmers Rescue Squad.

A passenger in the blue vehicle had injuries and was on the ground when police arrived on scene and was taken out of the vehicle by the driver, once the vehicle had come to a complete stop. The passenger was taken to the hospital by Ambler Community Ambulance Association.
Penllyn Pike was closed between Gypsy Hill Rd. and the little league field while police investigated the accident.
Kenny told Patch that the accident is currently under investigation.
