Counterfeit Bills Used at Ambler Business, Police Say

Counterfeit Bills: A local business in the 200 block of East Butler Avenue reported on Feb. 5 that a customer allegedly purchased items in the amount of $150.00 and paid for them with counterfeit bills.
A security tape of the person(s) purchasing items around the time of the bills being passed to the employee has been provided to police. The investigation is ongoing.

Fraud: A resident of the 300 block of Fairview Avenue reported on Feb. 4 that someone had allegedly fraudulently used her credit card to make a $134.00 purchase. She later discovered more transactions were made with her card, unknown of the dollar amount of the second transaction. The investigation is ongoing.
Theft: A resident of the 300 block of Valleybrook Road reported Feb. 5 that upon returning home, she discovered that her Apple MacBook Pro laptop and Nikon D3100 camera had allegedly been stolen from her room. The items are valued at $2600.00. The investigation is ongoing.

Theft from Vehicle: A resident of the 200 block of Highland Avenue reported on Jan. 31 that he saw someone getting out of his car while it was parked on the street. When he looked inside the car, he stated that his wallet was allegedly stolen. which contained $50.00 and assorted credit cards.
Public Drunkenness: Kelly McAndrew, 25, of the 200 block of South Chestnut Street, was cited for public drunkenness when police was dispatched to a call for a person lying in the snow.
Once officers made contact with McAndrews they allegedly detected a strong odor of alcohol about her person. She was transported home were she was released and advised she will be receiving a citation via mail.
