Preliminary Plans for Townhouse Development Approved by Ambler Borough Council
With the approval, DC Ambler Properties LLC can pursue plans to secure funding for project, which seeks to construct 36 townhouses along South Chestnut Street.
Following a brief presentation of their preliminary plan to build 36 townhouses on South Chestnut Street, DC Ambler Properties LLC was given the green light to continue on with their plan by Ambler Borough Council during Tuesday night's meeting.
Though no final plans have been approved, the move allows the developers to seek funding for the project, including a portion of the $8 million Rural Community Assistance Partnership funding that had been previously given to the borough.
A previous construction plan, known as the Western Development, originally called for 288 units to be developed, according to Borough Manager Mary Aversa.
Minor concerns arose regarding the stress a new development would put on the borough's water and sewer facilities, but Aversa stated that there should be no issues.

An additional concern of traffic flow at the entrance and exit roads of the proposed development, which resulted in the suggestion that a road be connected to Church Street in order to offer a third access point.
Prior to council's approval, the preliminary plans were approved by both the borough planning commission and borough engineer, as well as the Montgomery County Planning Commission.
