Recycle Electronics for Free at Staples
The office-supply chain announced the initiative Friday.

Staples stores nationwide are now offering free recycling of some electronics in partnership with HP, the companies announced Friday.
Customers can drop off items at the service desk during normal store hours: 8 a.m.-9 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
The following items can be dropped off for recycling:

- Desktop PCs, laptops, netbooks, tablet PCs, external hard drives and small servers
- All computer monitors
- Printers, desktop copiers, faxes and all-in-one devices
- Mice, keyboards, modems/routers networking and PC speakers
- Shredders, streaming devices, phones and Universal Power Supply (UPS battery backup)
- Mobile phones, GPS devices, MP3 players, digital camcorders and digital cameras
The following items cannot:
- Televisions
- Appliances
- Alkaline batteries
- Floor model copiers/printers
- Large servers
- Audio/visual equipment
- Kitchen electrics
