Road Closures During LIVESTRONG Challenge in Blue Bell, Lower Gwynedd

The LIVESTRONG Challenge will be help on Saturday, August 18 and Sunday, August 19.

On Saturday August 18 and Sunday August 19 the Montgomery County Community College, 340 Dekalb Pike, will again be hosting the LiveSTRONG Challenge. This event will include a 5K walk/run, a 10K run and 20 mile, 45 mile, and 100 mile bike rides. The starting point of all events will be the Morris Road lot of MCCC.

The 5K and 10K events will be held on Saturday Aug 18. The 10K run will start at 8:00 am from the Morris Rd lot and will proceed through Blue Bell Knoll and onto Plymouth Rd into Lower Gwynedd Township and then back to MCCC via Normandy Drive. The 5K walk/run will begin at approximately 8:15 am in the Morris Road lot of MCCC and will continue into the neighborhoods of Blue Bell Knoll and then through Normandy of Blue Bell.

The bike rides will be held on Sunday Aug 19. They will leave the college in waves beginning at 7:30 am, and will travel through sections of Montgomery County and Berks County and then back to MCCC to end their event. There will be some traffic control provided at specific locations due to the large amount of riders on local roads. Morris Road will be closed to vehicle traffic between Dekalb Pike and Cathcart Road on Saturday between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. and on Sunday from 6 a.m. to approximately 5 p.m. On Saturday, much of Cathcart Road will be closed to vehicle traffic from 6:30 am to approximately 11 a.m.
