“This award honors a large-volume EMS agency for its contribution to quality pre-hospital care within the community by demonstrating a consistent pattern of timely care delivery, working cooperatively with surrounding EMS agencies and supporting professional activities for its providers,” according to the SARS website.

New Home in Whitpain Township

On Jan. 7, the Whitpain Township Board of Supervisors approved a land development plan for the future Second Alarmers Resque Squad station, according to the Ambler Gazette.

SARS, which is headquartered out of Willow Grove, expanded its primary response area to include Whitpain Township in 2007. Currently, the organization operates out of a trailer on the township’s municipal complex.

The new station will be located in the parking lot between the police building and Wentz Run Park.

Whitpain Township has provided right-of-use of the property to SARS, which is now responsible for funding the $1.5 million project.

The project is set to start sometime this summer.
