Show Your Library Card in September, Get a Discount

Local businesses are partnering with Wissahickon Valley Public Library and Upper Dublin Library as part of the Library Card Sign Up Month and Business Promotion.

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, and the and Upper Dublin Library are hold their third annual Library Card Sign-Up and Business Promotion from September 1 through 30.

Businesses offer a gift or discount when patron show thier library card.

"Our goals are two-fold - to drive new customers to our local businesses and to encourage patrons to get a library card," Sue Burdick, Community Outreach Coordinator for Wissahickon Valley Public Library told Patch.

New registrations for both Upper Dublin Library and Wissahickon Valley Public Library have gone up significantly each year, Burdick said.

The complete list of businesses will be coming soon.  A sample of businesses already onboard include , Cantina Feliz, , , , ,  and .

"Both libraries are community centers for area citizens and encourage the citizens to support their local businesses. It is a win-win opportunity for all," said Burdick.
