State Rep. Kate Harper Reacts to Voter ID Law Ruling
Harper said she voted for the law in March because she thought it was good for her voters.

State Rep. Kate Harper (R-61) reacted to Wednesday's ruling that .
The Pennsylvania law, which passed in March, requires all register voters to show a valid photo ID before voting."I was not surprised [by the decision]," said Harper.
Harper told Patch that she and her staff have been working very hard since the law was passed in March to get the word out about proper voter identification and help voters get proper identification.

She said the people in her district that she is most worried about are those who live in continuing care centers and those that no longer drive. She added that PennDOT has been very cooperative in obtaining proper ID.
"I thought that the voter ID law was and is supported by most people," she said.

Harper added that most people has encountered simply needed to be assured that the identification they have is considered "proper ID" per the new law.
"I thought it was pretty hyped up" in the media, she said, but added that the coverage let people know that they do need ID when they go to vote in November.
Harper said she voted for the Voter ID law in March."I thought it was reasonable," she said. "I thought it was good for my voters."
"I still think it is a good idea," she added.
