Whitpain Police Reports: Vehicle Theft, Retail Theft, Drug Possession
Police incident reports from Whitpain Township Police.

Disorderly Conduct - On August 6th at approximately 1:21 am, an officer noticed two juvenile males walking along Skippack Pike at Cathcart Road. As he spoke with the fifteen and sixteen year old Blue Bell residents, he could smell an odor of marijuana coming from both subjects. Both boys were evasive and had bloodshot eyes and the officer found they both had baggies of suspected marijuana. Both were arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Curfew violations and were released to their parents.
False ID - On August 2nd at 1:30 am a white Honda was seen making an illegal left turn out of the . Upon stopping the vehicle, the driver said that he had a driver’s license but did not have it with him. The driver identified himself as Song Un KIM 11/21/1968. PennDot had no record for that person. He then gave officers several other dates of birth which received the same result. The driver then advised his real name was Chong KIM, 47 yrs old of the 2000 block of Bethel Road in Lansdale Pa. KIM was placed under arrest for False Identification to Law Enforcement Authorities, Driving While License is Suspended, Operating a Vehicle without Insurance and Disobedience to Traffic Control Devices. He was arraigned and bail was set at $1,000/unsecured and he was taken to Montgomery County Correctional Facility on a detainer from Adult Probation.
Drug Possession - On August 2nd at approximately 9:23 am, an officer could smell burned marijuana coming from a white Nissan directly in front of him. Both were traveling east on Skippack Pike near Penllyn Pk. During the stop, officers located a marijuana cigarette, additional containers of marijuana and paraphernalia. Michael SIMKINS 44 yrs old of the 400 block of Warren Street in Norristown was taken into custody and charges will be filed pending results from the lab.

Disorderly Conduct - On July 30th at approximately 8:25 pm, officers responded to for an unwanted person. The caller stated that John SHADE 60 yrs old of the 100 block of Walnut Lane in Ambler, was refusing to pay his bill. SHADE was escorted from the building, cited for Disorderly Conduct and released to his wife.
Retail Theft - On July 19th at approximately 1:50 pm, officers responded to for a retail theft. Upon arrival, officers spoke with store security who advised that a white female operating a silver Lincoln Navigator was observed putting merchandise in re-usable bags and walking out of the store without paying for the items. The value of the merchandise was over $140.00. The offender was identified through surveillance as Jamie SLOBODZIAN, 28 yrs old of the 2900 block of Penn Square Road in East Norriton, Pa. A Non-Traffic citation was filed through District Court after numerous attempts to contact SLOBODZIAN were unsuccessful.

Retail Theft - On July 19th at approximately 1:42 pm, officers responded to the for a report of a retail theft. A store employee reported that he saw two male subjects taking Similac and pampers from the store without paying for the items. Value was determined to be approximately $472.80. Through the investigation, Michael PAUL, 35 yrs old of the 400 block of Grove Street in Bridgeport was identified as an actor in this case. It was also determined that he was suspected of several similar thefts in the area. On August 1st, Plymouth Township Police advised that they had taken Michael Paul into custody on multiple arrest warrants, including charges from Whitpain and he was being held at Montgomery County Correctional Facility. While at MCCF, Mr. Paul was arraigned on Retail Theft and Conspiracy charges. Bail was set at $2500/unsecured.
Vehicle Theft - On July 28th at approximately 7:38 am, police responded to the 1700 block of Sheffield Dr for a report of a stolen truck. Upon arrival the victim told police that his 2009 Black Ford F250 Super Duty truck with a crew cab and shortbed truck bearing Pennsylvania registration of YWR8350 had been stolen from his driveway. It was reported that the vehicle was left unlocked and that there was a spare set of keys inside the truck. The truck had “Panther East” displayed on the exterior in gray and white lettering. Investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Whitpain Township Police Department at 610-279-9033.
