$8,000 Season Tickets Stolen, Police Say

Lower Merion police reported the following incidents to news media at a briefing Tuesday morning. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Theft of mail: About 10 a.m. Feb. 4, a packet of Philadelphia Flyers season tickets valued at $7,956 was delivered to a home on the first block of East Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore, according to police. The package, which did not fit through the mail slot, was placed between the storm door and front door. The resident arrived home later and did not find any package, then reported the package as stolen when it had not arrived by 3:15 p.m. Feb. 5, police said. Others in the neighborhood have recently reported mail missing also.

Public intoxication, underage drinking: A 19-year-old St. Joseph's University student was charged about 11 p.m. Feb. 9 in a dormitory common area of McShane Hall on the 300 block of City Avenue, police said. A resident advisor had called police to report an alcohol overdose.

Public intoxication: A 56-year-old Haverford woman was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at Montgomery and Woodside avenues in Ardmore, police said. Police reported she was staggering in the street and tried several times to run away from officers, then declined to take a test of her blood alcohol content.
