Attempted Murder Charge for Hebrew School Stabbing Suspect

Police say that a former employee of Jack M. Barrack Academy attacked a kitchen worker Monday morning.

A Philadelphia man has been charged with attempted murder after police say he stabbed and threw bleach at a kitchen worker at Jack M. Barrack Academy in the Bryn Mawr section of Radnor Monday morning.

Ivan Moore, 32, has been charged with three felonies, including attempted murder, aggravated assault and criminal trespass, along with related counts. He has been remanded to Delaware County Prison on $500,000 cash bail.

According to information from the Radnor Police Department, Moore allegedly entered the school from the bus entrance after an employee from the school’s technology support services provider granted him access. A note from Sharon Levin, Head of the School, says that employee violated building protocols and has been relieved of duties.

“Everyone on the Barrack campus is aware of our security protocols and under no circumstances are students or staff permitted to let someone in who does not have a school ID,” said Levin.

Police say Moore, a former employee of Barrack, confronted a kitchen worker and the two had an argument. Both men sustained injuries, with the 50-year-old worker sent to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in serious condition. According to police, Moore attempted to flee the scene and was apprehended by Haverford police at the Overbrook Train Station.
