According to U.S. News & World Report's annual rankings the general medical and surgical hospital also ranks No. 5 in the Philly area.
Bryn Mawr Hospital has been ranked as one of the best hospitals in Pennsylvania.
According to U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings, released Tuesday, the general medical and surgical hospital ranks No. 9 in Pennsylvania, and No. 5 in the Philadelphia metro area.
“(Bryn Mawr Hospital) performed nearly at the level of nationally ranked U.S. News Best Hospitals in 4 adult specialties,” read the report. “It scored high in patient safety, demonstrating commitment to reducing accidents and medical mistakes.”

In addition, he medical center also received a “high performing” ranking in five specialties. These include:
- Gastroenterology & GI Surgery
- Geriatrics
- Orthopedics
- Urology
- Heart failure

Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, part of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, received the overall top ranking in the state.
