Early Mac Fonts Named For Main Line Train Stops

Ardmore, Merion, Rosemont and Overbrook were names of original Mac bitmap fonts.

 

The in isn’t the only Apple tie to the Lower Merion area.

Early Mac fonts were named for stops on the Paoli/Thorndale, previously known as the R5, SEPTA regional rail line, according to a report on Philebrity.

Ardmore, Merion, Rosemont and Overbrook became font names, but apparently, according to Philebrity, the naming convention turned to larger cities when Steve Jobs got involved.
