I-76 Lanes, Ramps Closing Overnight Next Week In Lower Merion

Overnight bridge repair, milling, and paving operations will force ramps and lanes to close on Interstate 76 in Lower Merion next week.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — More work on Interstate 76 in the Lower Merion area will force ramp and lane closures overnight next week, according to PennDOT.

PennDOT said bridge repair, milling, and paving operations will take place as part of a $37.9 million project to resurface and repair nearly five miles of the interstate, the associated on-and-off ramps, and more than 20 bridges Lower Merion and Philadelphia.

Drivers are advised of the following travel restrictions:

  • Monday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp to eastbound I-76 from City Avenue will be closed and detoured. Motorists will be directed to use westbound I-76 to access City Avenue.
  • Monday through Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure is scheduled on sections of I-76 in both directions between the City Avenue and I-676 interchanges.
  • Tuesday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from Montgomery Drive to westbound I-76 will be closed and detoured. Motorists will be directed to use Belmont Avenue and Girard Avenue to access the ramp to westbound I-76.
  • Wednesday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on the ramp from City Avenue to eastbound I-76.
  • Wednesday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from eastbound and westbound I-76 to City Avenue will be closed and detoured. Motorists will be directed to follow the posted detour route.
  • Thursday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramps to-and-from eastbound I-76 to Girard Avenue will be closed and detoured. Motorists will be directed to use westbound I-76 to access Girard Avenue.
  • Friday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, the ramp from Girard Avenue to westbound I-76 will be closed and detoured. Motorists will be directed to use Belmont Avenue and Montgomery Drive to access the ramp to westbound I-76.
