I-76 Ramp Closing All Weekend, PennDOT Says

The Interstate 76 west to City Avenue ramp will be closed Friday night through Monday morning for bridge repair, PennDOT said.

PHILADELPHIA — PennDOT said the ramp from westbound Interstate 76 to City Avenue will be closed this weekend due to bridge repair work.

The closure will begin at 8 p.m. Friday, with the ramp scheduled to reopen at 5 a.m. Monday.

During the ramp closure, drivers will be directed to continue west on I-76, exit at Gladwyne (Exit 337), turn left onto Hollow Road, turn left onto the ramp to I-76 East, and continue on I-76 East to access the ramp to City Avenue/U.S. 1 South at Exit 339.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge repair will close the ramp from westbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) to U.S. 1 South (City Avenue/Exit 339) in Philadelphia this weekend.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because significant backups and delays may occur.

All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The bridge repair is part of a $41.3 million project to resurface and repair nearly five miles of the interstate, the associated on-and-off ramps, and more than 20 bridges in Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township.
