New Coffee, Breakfast Spot Coming To Main Line Oct 4

The Malvern Buttery is expanding to the eastern part of the Main Line with a new location in the Ardmore Farmer's Market.

ARDMORE, PA — Ardmore is getting a new place to grab coffee and other breakfast items soon, and it's coming by way of a popular western Main Line café.

The Buttery – Ardmore will open officially on Oct. 4 at the Ardmore Farmer’s Market in Suburban Square, but will host a three-day soft opening before that.

The soft opening will run from Oct. 1 to Oct. 3, with The Buttery – Ardmore open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. those days.

To celebrate its grand opening, The Buttery - Ardmore will give away its signature sable cookies to the first 100 customers, with purchase, on both Oct. 4 and Oct. 5.

This new location will be open seven days a week and serve handcrafted specialty coffee, scratch-made pastries, sourdough bread, bagels, sandwiches and more.

Menu offerings and highlights of the Ardmore location include croissants and scones, as well as grab-and-go favorites like the Buttery's ham and brie baguette sandwich. New menu items include chicken katsu and pastrami reuben. And, The Buttery – Ardmore will offer bagels with a selection of house made spreads.

The Buttery's Bakehouse in Norristown is where all the artisanal breads, pastries and savory are made daily.

But we can't forget about the most important menu item: coffee.

The Buttery – Ardmore will offer handcrafted specialty coffee and tea using Passenger Coffee, a roaster in Lancaster.

This new location will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.

"Community has always been at the heart of The Buttery," John Rhoads, Co-Owner of The Buttery, said. "Our goal is not only to serve exceptional food and drink, but to foster connections with the communities where we work. Ardmore’s bustling farmer’s market felt like a great next step for us, and we’re excited to be a part of it."

The Buttery was founded in 2015 by husband-wife duo Rhoads and his wife Silenia Rhoads with the opening of their flagship location in Malvern. A second satellite location at the Malvern Station that opened in 2024.

The new Ardmore location opens as The Buttery celebrates its 10-year anniversary, and as they look to further expand throughout the region in the coming months.
