New Lower Merion Recycling Schedule Starts Monday

Beginning the week of July 20, every household in the township will recycle comingled materials such as metal cans, glass and aluminum.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA—Beginning the week of July 20, every household in the township will recycle comingled materials such as metal cans, glass and aluminum. According to township officials, this means residents will put out only the comingled materials and not paper and cardboard recyclables.

Beginning the week of July 27, every household in the township will recycle paper and cardboard. This means put out only the paper and cardboard recyclables and not comingled materials.

There will be recycling collected every week on your trash day and will continue to alternate week by week. Example: The week of August 3 will be comingled recyclables and the week of August 10 will be paper and cardboard recyclables.

"We hope you will find this recycling schedule easy and convenient and be assured the Township expects both short-term and long-term savings with the implementation of this new program," township officials announced in a news release.

To help residents become accustomed to the change, the Township Calendar and its Facebook and Twitter pages will also post every Sunday to remind residents what the recyclable week is that coming Monday.
