PennDOT Hosting Meeting On Lower Merion Travel, Safety Imrovement Project

The project aims to improve safety and travel through the Belmont Avenue and St. Asaphs Road intersection​ in Lower Merion Township.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — PennDOT is looking to keep Lower Merion residents informed of an upcoming project to reconstruct and improve travel and safety through the Belmont Avenue and St. Asaphs Road Intersection.

The public is invited to attend a virtual meeting on the project Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. To attend the meeting, click this link before the presentation starts

PennDOT's design team will give a project presentation before hosting a question and answer session.

Anyone with special needs or requiring special aid is requested to contact PennDOT Project Manager Nathan Parrish at c-nparrish@pa.gov. Those who cannot attend the meeting can view a recording of it and copy of the project materials on the project webpage. An online comment form will also be available to submit questions or feedback.

This project includes the evaluation of alternatives for safety improvements along the St. Asaphs Road corridor and review of alternatives at the intersection of Belmont Avenue and St. Asaphs Road in Lower Merion.

The alternatives that are being reviewed by PennDOT include a road diet along the St. Asaphs Road corridor from Conshohocken State Road/Route 23 to Monument Road, as well as two intersection control alternatives at the Belmont Avenue and St. Asaphs Road intersection, including a traffic signal and a hybrid roundabout.
