Police Blotter: Multiple Thefts, Public Intoxications Reported
The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department.
Burglary: Police said a silver MacBook Pro and power cord were stolen from a residence on the unit block of Greenfield Avenue in Ardmore sometime between 4:30 p.m. June 13 and 2 a.m. June 14. It is believed the burglar entered through an unlocked door, police said.
Theft: A theft from a motor vehicle was reported at 5 a.m. June 14 from a car parked on the 300 block of E. Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore, police said. A police officer driving by noticed a blue Lexus with the rear passenger’s side window broken out, police said. When police contacted the owner, the owner said a black canvas bag containing black sneakers, sweatpants, jersey and headphones was taken from the vehicle, police said. Surveillance video from a nearby apartment complex shows an about 5-foot-11 bald black man with a medium build and a beard breaking the window out with a baseball bat at about 2:49 a.m. June 14, police said. Police said the man drove away in a metallic gray or blue Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquis.
Theft: A wallet containing credit cards was stolen from a Lankenau Hospital patient sometime June 14, police said. Police said the credit cards were used at various locations in the Philadelphia area. No one was seen or heard, police said.

Theft: Eight window air conditioning units were stolen from a residence on the 200 block of Winding Way in Merion Station, police said. The air conditioning units were worth $500 total, police said.
Theft: Police responded to a report of a theft of a bicycle in progress at 1:25 p.m. June 16 from Penn Wynne Elementary School. The bike, valued at $100, was later recovered on Haverford Road, police said.

Theft: Police said a laptop was stolen from the Palmer Theological Seminary at the intersection of Lancaster Avenue and City Avenue in Ardmore. Police said the laptop was discovered missing in April, but the laptop’s owner wanted to check with everyone before reporting it.
Theft: Five cartons of cigarettes were stolen from the Ardmore Wawa at 3:05 a.m. June 20, police said. Police said a man and woman entered the store, and the woman distracted the employee while the man stole five cartons of Newport cigarettes, valued at $285. Police said the man and woman fled, and the woman was stopped at the intersection of Montgomery Avenue and Mill Creek Road. The woman, identified as the woman who was in the store, was Sha-Neena Jackson, 36, of the 1700 block of St. Paul Street in Philadelphia, police said. The cigarettes were recovered by the Citizens Bank parking lot.
Public intoxication: Police said a man was arrested at 8:50 p.m. June 16 on the 100 block of Ardmore Avenue in Ardmore and was charged with public intoxication. Police said the man, Scott Cohen, 20, of the 600 block of Dayton Road in Bryn Mawr, called police and said somebody had been after him. When police responded, they said Cohen was smoking marijuana and was under the influence to a degree that he was a danger to himself and others.
Public intoxication: Police said a man in the Ardmore Wawa at 2:10 a.m. June 19 was observed in the store staggering and bumping into things. The man then yelled obscenities at a deli clerk after he was told he needed to pay for his food first, police said. Police said the man then tried to get over the counter. A police officer who was in the store then identified the man, John Hennessy, 48, of the unit block of E. Spring Avenue in Ardmore, and said he had a blood-alcohol content of .19, police said. Hennessy was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
