Police: Recent Increase In Burglaries

Lower Merion has seen an increase in residential burglaries in the past 10 days, according to a township news release. Merion and Penn Valley have seen the greatest activity, with some overnight burglaries reported. 

Police suggested the following tips to safeguard against burglaries:

• Take extra care to secure homes
• Use outside lighting
• Use timers inside homes
• Notify neighbors and/or police when going out of town

Police also encouraged residents to immediately report any suspicious people or vehicles in their neighborhoods by calling 9-1-1.
