Baldwin H.S. Musical Raises 'Curtains' from April 20-28

Tickets go on sale on March 24.

In a parody of 1950s "whodunnit" mystery theater, theater arts students will perform the murder mystery "Curtains" as its spring musical this year.

In "Curtains," an untalented leading lady, Jessica Cranshaw, cannot sing, act, dance or remember when to say her lines. To the relief of everyone, she is murdered during her opening night curtain call of the fictional 1950s cowboy musical "Robbin' Hood."

The entire company comes under suspicion, and a lone detective, Lt. Frank Cioffi, a theater fan and amateur actor, investigates a series of continuous murders that take place backstage.

The cast of "Robbin' Hood" is forced to stay inside the theater while Cioffi unravels the mystery and becomes more involved with saving the show than solving the case.

Cioffi finds himself falling for Niki, Ms. Cranshaw's understudy. She seems to return his affection, so he hopes that she's not the murderer.

Meanwhile, secrets are surfacing, the production numbers in "Robbin' Hood" are rewritten, rehearsed and rewritten again, and the body count is rising.

Can Cioffi solve the case, save the show and get the girl before the curtain rises—and without getting murdered himself? Learn the answers to these questions and solve the mystery by attending "Curtains" at the Baldwin High auditorium on April 20, 21, 22, 26, 27 and 28. Each show, with the exception of April 22, starts at 7 p.m. The April 22 show is a performance that is free for senior citizens (aged 62 and older) to attend, and it starts at 1 p.m.

Tickets for the other performances cost $10 each. (Non-senior citizens must also pay $10 on April 22.) Buy early, as all seats are reserved.
