Baldwin No. 1 Firefighters Heading Back Down South
A fundraiser will be held for the crew on Saturday at C.J. Chugs.
Six firefighters from are heading back to Hackleburg, AL, from June 9-12 to deliver fire equipment and to help rebuild an area ravaged by tornadoes in the spring of 2011.
In a story , the Baldwin firefighters said that they felt compelled to help the small town after seeing and hearing of reports of the extensive damage.
Said Baldwin Independent Captain Bill Connors at the time, "We all have to work. We all have to pay the bills, but hey, these folks are in serious trouble down there."

And since Hackleburg is not out of the woods yet as its citizens struggle to rebuild, Baldwin's boys are making a return.
There'll be no Connors this year, but the six other Baldwin fighters going are Kevin Kenny, Chris Barker, Greg Davis, Joe Kreil, Jason Smith and Brian Zimmerman.

And in order to pay for their trip, the company needs to raise funds to cover the fighters' fuel, food and lodging. As such, a fundraiser is being held at bar in north this Saturday, May 19, from 8 p.m. to closing time.
There will be a $5 charge to enter the bar during that time, and the firefighters will serve as guest bartenders working for tips.
In addition, Baldwin Independent firefighters will walk in the Baldwin Borough Community Day parade on Saturday, June 2, carrying boots that they hope to fill with more donations.
