Baldwin-Whitehall Gas Prices: Where Are The Cheapest Fill-Ups?

Sunoco, Marathon among the best options.

Motorists seeking the cheapest fill-up in the Baldwin-Whitehall area have two places from which to choose.

The Sunoco at Churchview and Wildwood avenues and the Marathon at Saw Mill Run Boulevard near Greenlee Drive both are charging $2.57 for a gallon of regular unleaded, according to GasBuddy.com. The next least-expensive options, which are charging $2.59 a gallon, are:

  • GetGo, Save Mill Run Boulevard near Marylea Avenue
  • Sunoco, Saw Mill Run Boulevard at Greenlee Drive
  • GetGo, Lebanon Road at Noble Drive

The average price per gallon in the Pittsburgh area is $2.52, according to AAA. That’s 45 cents higher than a year ago.

The Pittsburgh average is higher than the $2.48 average across the state, which is higher than the current national average of $2.29 per gallon.

In Pennsylvania, an 8-cent per gallon gas tax increase went into effect in January. The state’’s wholesale tax is 58 cents per gallon, the highest such levy in the country.
