Century III Mall Park And Ride Lot To Close
In yet another sign of the former mall's decline, the park and ride lot will close next month.

WEST MIFFLIN, PA — Those using Pittsburgh Regional Transit's Century III Mall park and ride lot need to consider other options. The lot, which has 160 spaces, will close effective Feb. 6.
The license agreement was cancelled by mall management, according to a news release.
Riders of the Y1-Large Flyer, Y46-Elizabeth Flyer or 59-MonValley will need to board their buses from different stops. Riders heading to downtown Pittsburgh should board the Y1 from the Large park and ride, located at 219 Peters Creek Road in Jefferson Hills.

The lot's closure is the latest sign of decay at the former mall, a haven of graffiti-covered plywood that covers its former entrances. The vast parking lots, already eerily empty, will get even more so with the park and ride lot's closure. The roads that form a circle around the former retail complex are pothole-strewn.
The mall's interior closed in 2019 and its last anchor, J.C. Penney, departed in 2020.
