PITTSBURGH, PA — A restaurant chain with a former Pittsburgh presence appears to be close to going out of business.

In its heyday in the early 2010s, Joe's Crab Shack had nearly 150 locations nationwide, according to Tasting Table. The restaurant was known for dishes such as seafood boils, fried fish sandwiches, and surf and turf.

One of those locations was at Station Square, where diners were provided with a spectacular view of the Monongahela River. That location, the chain's only one in Pittsburgh, abruptly closed in September 2024.
