Former Pittsburgh Radio Personality Dies
For two decades, Pittsburgh radio listeners heard him every weekday morning.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Neal Spence was a well-known Pittsburgh radio personality even though he didn't work in the studio. He worked in an airplane.
Spence, who spent two decades providing traffic reports at WTAE-AM from 1978 to 1997, died of cancer, WTAE-TV reported. He had been living in Florida.
The Baldwin High School graduate was dubbed "Sky Puppy" by the WTAE morning team of Larry O'Brien and John Garry.
