How Baldwin and Whitehall Can Help Victims of the Oklahoma Tornado

Donating money to organizations that help victims is quick and easy.

Baldwin-Whitehall residents and people across the country are reacting with shock to the devastation caused by a 2-mile wide tornado in Oklahoma.

At least 24 people have died, more than 200 have been injured, and President Barack Obama has declared the path of the tornado to be a major disaster area.

  • Officials from the American Red Cross say that, in the immediate aftermath, the best way to help is by texting REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10. You can also donate by visiting www.redcross.org or by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (733-2767).
  • The Salvation Army has mobilized in Oklahoma, and you can support them by donating online or by texting STORM to 80888 to contribute $10 to the Salvation Army's relief efforts. Or, you can make a donation by phone at 1-800-SAL-ARMY (725-2769).
